The new camera systems, supplied by Perth-based Scottish Communications, will target areas where repeat crime is rife. The mobile cameras will be used both as a crime prevention measure and also to help catch and identify offenders.
Detective inspector Ron Ferguson said: "These new cameras are designed to help protect communities where repeat crime is a problem. Our message to criminals is 'watch out' because your anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and we could be filming you."
The equipment supplied included the very latest fixed and functional digital cameras with high resolution digital recording. The systems can be remotely operated and viewed.
Brain Davidson, Sales Manager for Scottish Communications, said: "The equipment we supplied is extremely hi-tech and we are delighted that communities throughout Grampian will benefit from its use."
