The security and safety of guests is paramount and over the past few years Scottish Communications has installed a range of CCTV equipment to aid this process.
As part of a new recent upgrade, Scottish Communications installed a number of cameras to cover some of the key indoor areas such as corridors and exits.
Other cameras were installed to monitor previously uncovered areas of its extensive grounds and an existing system in its leisure centre was also upgraded.
According to Robert Coombs, hotel engineer, the guests welcome the cameras as it gives them reassurance that their safety is a top priority due to the exclusive nature of the hotel, aesthetic elements were a crucial part of the whole installation process.
The cameras link back to a digital recording facility in the hotel’s communications room and the system at the leisure centre also feeds back to a monitor at the hotel reception, enabling continuous surveillance of one of the leisure areas.
Also installed was a door monitoring system that will show an alarm at the top of the reception desk if key doors are opened during the night.
“We like to make sure that cameras are visible so that guests know that we take their safety seriously, “ says Robert.
“The systems are working well and allow us to continually monitor key indoor and outdoor areas, greatly enhancing the day-to-day operation of the hotel”
