Scottish Communications has already forged a close working relationship with Hurricane Energy, which is also based in Perth, and the transfer of the mobile phone business allows both companies to concentrate on their core strengths.
“The principal reason for the transfer is to allow us to concentrate on our main operation of business communications and security,” states Paul Gibson, managing director of Scottish Communications.
“It will benefit our existing mobile phone customers as Hurricane Energy specialises in sourcing the best business tariffs for customers and has a well established reputation in the utility industries.”
Garry Scott, managing director of Hurricane Energy, said: “We have worked closely with each other’s client base for the past three years to the benefit of customers. We specialise in least-cost routing in utilities such as electricity and gas, and adding business mobile phones to our range of services makes sound business sense.”
Hurricane Energy is situated in Arran House right next door to the Scottish Communications headquarters in Perth, which will allow for continued close co-operation between the two companies. A key advantage for business customers is the ample car parking space available at Arran House.
The move means that the closure of Scottish Communication's former mobile phone showroom will provide the company with the opportunity to expand and restructure its office space and workshop facilities. Scottish Communications will still supply and install fixed hands-free car kits for mobile phones.
