RNLI’s new Perth base gets helping hand from Scottish Communication Systems

RNLI’s new Perth base gets helping hand from Scottish Communication Systems

The RNLI’s new Scottish Divisional Base & Fundraising Office in Perth has benefited from a CCTV installation by local company, Scottish Communications.

The new base on the Inveralmond Industrial Estate has now been in operation for six months. But security problems during the construction phase spurred the RNLI to investigate installing a surveillance system.

Scottish Communications came up with a solution involving the installation of two fixed and two 360 degrees rotating cameras, providing round-the-clock surveillance.

RNLI divisional general manager, Bill Horne, said: ‘The system is working well and since its installation we’ve had no problems. The fact that we are totally funded by voluntary contribution means that we must take all reasonable steps to ensure that this hard sought for money does not have to be spent on preventable damage or theft.’

Paul Gibson, managing director of Perth-based Scottish Communications, said: ‘We were pleased to have been able to help out the RNLI. These surveillance systems provide a useful deterrent and their popularity is increasing.’
